If you want to knit up something quick for Spring why not try Emmer, a lovely little top from the Simple Shapes Purelife Revive and Summerspun brochure designed by Sarah Hatton. Thanks Sarah……I just love this design!
It is knit in the round from the bottom up and you have absolutely no sewing up to do at the end. I only have a few hours to knit every day and it took me just over 2 weeks from start to finish! You can choose to use either Purelife Revive or Summerspun for each design. I used Purelife Revive in Grit 473 which is a blue-green shade with little flecks of pink, blue and white running through it giving a tweedy effect. The yarn itself was nice to handle and easy to knit with on 4mm (US 6) circular needles. It is also fully recycled from garments with the same fibre content: 36% cotton, 36% silk and 28% viscose.
I have worn and washed this top a couple of times and there is nothing I do not like about this yarn nor the design. I like it so much that I would love to knit another one in a purple or pinky shade such as Ironstone or Pearl.
But maybe I should try knitting it in Summerspun!
Initially, I did consider knitting this short sleeved cardigan with shawl collar called Sherry from Honey, a brochure by Kim Hargreaves using Revive………
I may still get around to it one day as I do like the look of it!
Here’s a few other designs that I considered knitting from the Rowan Simple Shapes Purelife Revive and Summerspun brochure.
And here’s the original Emmer……..
